Privacy Policy for Smart Printer
Last updated: February 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Halmob ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our Smart Printer mobile application ("App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
Automatically Collected (Anonymous)
- Anonymous User Identifier: A UUID generated on first launch that is not linked to your real identity.
- App Version and Build Number: Used to identify the version of the App you are running.
- Subscription Status: Your current subscription status.
- Timestamps of Actions: Used to understand usage patterns.
Usage Analytics (via Mixpanel)
We use Mixpanel for analytics. Events collected include:
- App lifecycle events (launch, background, foreground)
- Feature usage: printing events, scanning events, file operations
- Screen views and tab navigation
- Paywall interactions (presented, dismissed)
- Subscription events (started, cancelled, restored)
All events are tagged with an anonymous user ID, subscription status, and timestamp.
Locally Stored Data (On-Device Only)
- Scanned documents (stored in Documents/ScannedDocuments/ with iOS file protection)
- Print and scan job history (printer name, timestamp, status)
- Favorite printers and scanners
- App preferences (print settings, scan quality, color mode)
- Recent files list
- Connected cloud account info (email, connection status — placeholder, not yet active)
Information We Do Not Collect
- No real name, email, phone number, or address
- No login credentials (authentication features are not active)
- No location data
- No contacts or call logs
- No scanned document content is ever transmitted to external servers
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Mixpanel: Used for analytics. We share anonymous user ID, event data, subscription status, and app version. See Mixpanel's Privacy Policy.
- Adapty: Used for subscription management. We share anonymous user ID and purchase/subscription status. See Adapty's Privacy Policy.
- Apple (AirPrint): Print jobs are sent to local printers only.
Lottie (animation library) is used for UI animations and does not collect any data — it is purely client-side rendering.
Device Permissions
- Camera: Used for document scanning with live edge detection.
- Local Network: Used for discovering printers and scanners on your Wi-Fi network. Apple requires apps to disclose why local network access is needed; Smart Printer uses Bonjour/mDNS to find AirPrint-compatible devices on your network.
- Photo Library (Read): Used for importing images for printing.
- Photo Library (Write): Used for saving scanned documents to Photos.
Data Storage and Security
- On-Device Encryption: All scanned documents are stored locally on the device with .completeFileProtection (encrypted at rest).
- iCloud Sync: Scanned documents are synced to your personal iCloud account. This is the only way your data is preserved outside the device. If you delete the App without iCloud sync enabled, your data will be permanently lost.
- No Server-Side Database or Backup: The App does not maintain any backend server for user data. We do not provide any backup service. If the App is deleted, all locally stored data will be permanently lost.
- App Group Container: A shared container is used for Share Extension functionality, stored on-device only.
Data Retention
- Analytics Data: Subject to Mixpanel's retention policy.
- On-Device Data: Persists until you delete the App. Once the App is deleted, all locally stored data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
- Scanned Documents: Up to 50 documents stored locally; older ones may be automatically cleaned.
Data Transfer
- Analytics data is transmitted to Mixpanel servers (US-based).
- Subscription data is transmitted to Adapty servers.
- Print data is sent only to printers on the local network — never to external servers.
- Scanned document content never leaves the device (except via user-initiated sharing or iCloud sync).
Apple App Store Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
If you choose to subscribe to premium features in our iOS application, payments will be processed through your Apple ID account. The amount will be charged at the time of purchase confirmation.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is disabled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. The renewal cost will be clearly identified at that time.
You can manage or cancel your subscriptions by visiting your account settings in the App Store after purchase. If a free trial is available, any unused portion will be forfeited once a subscription is purchased.
To avoid being charged, ensure that auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the trial or subscription ends. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the billing cycle, after which access to the App will be suspended.
In some cases, when processing a refund request for in-app purchases, we may share certain usage data with Apple. This may include anonymized identifiers, usage duration, trial participation, and the extent to which features were used or consumed.
