Privacy Policy for Parking Sign AI
Last updated: June 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Halmob ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our Parking Sign AI mobile application ("App"). Parking Sign AI lets you point your camera at a parking sign and get a clear verdict — whether you can park, for how long, until when, and at what cost. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
Sign Photos You Capture or Import
- Parking Sign Images: When you take a photo of a parking sign or import one from your photo library, the image is uploaded to our secure backend and analyzed to produce a parking verdict. See the "AI-Powered Sign Analysis" section below for details on how this image is processed.
- Parking Verdicts and History: The verdict produced for each sign (can park, cannot park, conditional, or unsure), along with extracted details such as time limits and cost, may be stored on your device so you can review your scan history.
Location Data (Optional)
- Where You Parked: If you grant location permission and use the "Where is my car" feature, the App records the location where you parked so it can guide you back. This location is stored on your device.
- Context for Analysis: Where available, approximate location may be sent with a sign analysis request to improve the accuracy of the verdict for your area.
Automatically Collected (Anonymous)
- Anonymous User Identifier: A UUID generated on first launch that is not linked to your real identity.
- App Version and Build Number: Used to identify the version of the App you are running.
- Subscription Status: Your current subscription status.
- Timestamps of Actions: Used to understand usage patterns.
Usage Analytics (via Mixpanel)
We use Mixpanel for analytics. Events collected include:
- App lifecycle events (launch, background, foreground)
- Feature usage: scans started, verdicts produced, reminders set
- Screen views and tab navigation
- Paywall interactions (presented, dismissed)
- Subscription events (started, cancelled, restored)
All events are tagged with an anonymous user ID, subscription status, and timestamp. Sign photos and any extracted plate or personal data are never sent to Mixpanel.
Information We Do Not Collect
- No real name, email, phone number, or address
- No account or login credentials
- No contacts or call logs
- We do not retain sign photos beyond what is needed to produce and return your verdict (see below).
AI-Powered Sign Analysis
Parking Sign AI uses Google Gemini AI to read and interpret parking signs. When you scan or import a parking sign:
- The image is uploaded to our secure backend (workflow.halmob.com) over an encrypted connection.
- The image, along with non-identifying context such as the current time, time zone, and (if available) approximate location, is processed using Google Gemini AI to extract the parking rules and produce a verdict.
- The resulting verdict is returned to your device and displayed to you.
- Image data sent to Google is processed by Google as our service provider. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles data.
We do not use your sign photos to identify you, and we do not associate them with your real-world identity.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini AI: Used to analyze parking sign images and produce verdicts. We share the captured sign image and non-identifying context (time, time zone, optional approximate location). See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Adapty: Used for subscription management. We share anonymous user ID and purchase/subscription status. See Adapty's Privacy Policy.
- Mixpanel: Used for analytics. We share anonymous user ID, event data, subscription status, and app version. See Mixpanel's Privacy Policy.
Device Permissions
- Camera: Used to capture photos of parking signs for analysis.
- Photo Library: Used to import an existing photo of a parking sign for analysis.
- Location (When In Use): Used to save where you parked so the App can guide you back to your car, and optionally to improve verdict accuracy for your area.
- Notifications & Alarms: Used to set parking reminders and a prominent alarm so you return to your car in time and avoid a fine, even if your phone is silenced.
- App Tracking (Optional): If you consent, an advertising identifier helps us measure subscription and ad performance. This is never used to collect sign photos or plate data.
Data Storage and Security
- On-Device Storage: Your scan history, saved parking locations, and app preferences are stored locally on your device.
- Encrypted Transmission: Sign images are uploaded to our backend over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection using a short-lived, single-use upload URL.
- Image Retention: Uploaded sign images are used only to produce your verdict and are not retained as part of a user profile. We do not maintain a server-side database of your sign photos linked to your identity.
- No Server-Side Account: The App does not require an account, and we do not store your personal data on our servers beyond what is needed to process an analysis request.
Data Retention
- Analytics Data: Subject to Mixpanel's retention policy.
- On-Device Data: Scan history and saved parking locations persist until you delete them or delete the App. Once the App is deleted, all locally stored data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
- Uploaded Images: Retained only transiently for the duration needed to produce and return your verdict.
Data Transfer
- Sign images and analysis context are transmitted to our backend and to Google Gemini AI for processing.
- Subscription data is transmitted to Adapty servers.
- Analytics data is transmitted to Mixpanel servers.
- Your saved parking location stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
Apple App Store Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
If you choose to subscribe to premium features in our iOS application, payments will be processed through your Apple ID account. The amount will be charged at the time of purchase confirmation.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is disabled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. The renewal cost will be clearly identified at that time.
You can manage or cancel your subscriptions by visiting your account settings in the App Store after purchase. If a free trial is available, any unused portion will be forfeited once a subscription is purchased.
To avoid being charged, ensure that auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the trial or subscription ends. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the billing cycle.
In some cases, when processing a refund request for in-app purchases, we may share certain usage data with Apple. This may include anonymized identifiers, usage duration, trial participation, and the extent to which features were used or consumed.
